2016 Audiobook Challenge - Year End Wrap-up

It's hard to believe that we're now weeks away from 2017. How did that even happen?? It's also hard to believe that I blew my Audiobook Challenge 2016 goal out of the water. Go me!

In 2016 I discovered that I get more housework done if I can listen to an audiobook while I do it. I also realized that dentist visits become marginally more tolerable if I can listen to a book at the same time.

I learned that my preferred listening genre is, unsurprisingly, romance. And my list of beloved narrators has grown by a few names.

My Thoughts:
I look back over my list of audiobooks that I listened to in 2016, and think it's a pretty awesome list of book. There were some duds in the bunch, but overall I think I've done pretty well picking out books that I know I'll like, especially when I recognize a narrator that I've listened to and liked before.

Some of my absolute favorites for the year include Ride Steady by Kristen Ashley, Appealed by Emma Chase, Never Seduce a Scot by Maya Banks and Royally Screwed by Emma Chase.

I discovered that I really hate it when a narrator is changed part way through a series. This happened with Kristen Ashley's Chaos series and with J.D. Tyler's Alpha Pack series. In both cases, I loved the original narrator chosen and got used to her pronunciations and inflection and style. So, when a different narrator is brought in later in the series, it's harder to appreciate that person's performance, which is unfortunate.

So there you have it! This year is a wrap, and I'm already looking forward to the new audiobooks to discover in 2017.

wow great job. I see you finished and then some.
i have had that happen. where a narrator is changed. I hate it too. takes away from the listen and the characters. none do the characters the same.

Great job! I will definitely join in on this challenge next year. I've always been wary of Audiobooks because I thought that I wouldn't really pay attention, but I just started listening to them a few days ago and I'm already on my second book.
