The role of the domme is one that has always fascinated me. But, there aren't many stories featuring them. We women love the uber-alpha males who dominate in the bedroom, so that seems to be what most erotica authors write about. But, a dominant female and a submissive male is a truly unique relationship and completely fascinating. Leave it to Roni Loren to write about this in Break Me Down and to do it well.

Gibson has always fancied himself a dom, but isn't ready to admit to anyone that he has fantasies about being dominated by a woman. Not even Sam - the woman he can't get out of his head. 

Roni Loren made this story so REAL. All the thoughts that Gibson had - all his hangups about being dominated and losing control - they were all exactly what I would imagine a virile man would go through when faced with the choice of becoming a domme's sub. He wants the woman so badly, but doesn't want to give up his macho manly role in the relationship. I totally get that. 

Sam is struggling from the opposite side of the fence. She wants the man, but doesn't think she can change who she is in order to be with him. He either has to accept her as she is in the bedroom, or they can't be together, and that kills her. MAJOR props to Sam for staying true to herself - that can't have been easy. 

The fact that Gibson is willing to give the lifestyle a chance demonstrates how much he is willing to do in order to have Sam in his life. That is unbelievably sexy. I loved that the switch was hard for Gib. It was not a smooth transition. If it had been too easy, I wouldn't have enjoyed the story as much. 

Any Roni Loren story that has Pike in it is a 5-star story for me. Pike's and Foster's appearance and banter with their friend Gibson was my favorite part of this book. They are all so close - their friendship is awesome. 

I can't wait for more from this series. It's definitely one of my favorites.
