There is a lid for every pot. On His Knees opens with both Alex and Jamie struggling with this, but Jamie especially. He's endured yet another failed relationship, and he just can't figure out what's missing. Until an offhanded comment (by a Hard Ink favorite) sparks something inside him, and he starts out on a journey to find out who he is so that he can find his perfect match. 

What I loved most about this book is Jamie's exuberant enthusiasm about his journey. When he realizes that he's been seeking out all the wrong sort of relationships his entire life, he's almost unfazed. He just knows he needs to make a course correction, and he embraces that wholeheartedly. He does research, talks to experts, and when the opportunity comes up to take it to the next level at Blasphemy, he doesn't hesitate. 

Alex, however, is all about caution. Some bad experiences on his part as well have made him skeptical and a little gun shy, especially when it comes to a lifestyle newbie. But, Jamie's obvious need for his guidance coupled with the perfect alignment of their personalities, needs and wants convinces Alex to throw caution to the wind and start a relationship with this fascinating man. 

On His Knees plays host to some more extreme forms of BDSM, so if things like breath play and force scenes aren't your bag, you might want to give this book a pass. But, Alex and Jamie are so super hot together - their scenes are sexy and incredible. But, even outside of their scenes, they are so obviously perfect for each other, I loved everything about them. 

On His Knees, like the other books in the Blasphemy series, is on the short side. I would've loved more meat on their backstories and more follow-up on Jamie's relationship with his parents. I want to know how their relationship and lifestyle affects their jobs, if at all, and what the other submissives think of Jamie. But, the length didn't affect my enjoyment of this story. I did love it.
