Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish. This is one meme I can get on board with - I LOVE lists! I'll show you mine if you show me yours!

Top Ten Books I'd Like To See Made Into Movies
(if this were a perfect world and the movies didn't butcher the plots beyond recognition and were cast exactly as I see them in my mind)

Dystopians seem to be the new shiny thing to be turned into movies. Since this is my favorite dystopian series of all time, it stands to reason that I'd want to see Aria, Perry and Roar come to life on the big screen.

I would love to see what Hollywood would dream up as a set for the Godspeed. Across the Universe's plot was so twisting and turning and action-packed, it seems like it would make an incredible movie.

I just want to see Bones. And hear him speak.

4. The Iron King (The Iron Fey #1), by Julie Kagawa
The Lord of the Rings trilogy was a movie of incredible proportions. I envision The Iron Fey series to look something like that. With faeries and talking cats and mythical creatures and a fantastical world, this movie would be a feast for the eyes. And, it has Ash too. Bonus.

5. The Demon King (Seven Realms #1), by Cinda Williams Chima
As you might be able to tell from my description of The Iron King, I'm a huge fan of sweeping fantasy movies. The Seven Realms series is my favorite fantasy series, and Han and Raisa are one of my favorite bookish couples of all time. I'd watch this movie over and over.

The Black Dagger Brothers are big, strong, powerful and immortal. And they love absolutely fiercely. This would be like Twilight on a tank full of steroids. And I enjoyed the Twilight movies.

7. Of Poseidon (Of Poseidon #1), by Anna Banks
My favorite book covers are those that are underwater. Everything just looks so ethereal and magical and slightly creepy. I think a movie half filmed underwater would be even cooler. And the story is interesting and awesome to boot.

8. Waterfall (River of Time #1), by Lisa Tawn Bergren
I'm jonesing for a good period piece. In Waterfall, Gabby is thrown back to 14th century Italy where she meets a super hot Lord and ends up fighting alongside him. Can you imagine the dresses? The Castles? The battles? I want to see this love story unfold before my eyes.

Another amazing vampire story, this one with snarky characters, an awesome conspiracy story and... Ethan Sullivan.

10. Storm (Elemental #1), by Brigid Kemmerer
Four hot brothers who can control the elements? Yes, please. The movies made from this series would have all the feels of a Sparks drama together with the excitement of a Marvel Comics action flick. It's like, the best of both worlds.

Honorable Mention

1. Shatter Me (Shatter Me #1), by Tahereh Mafi
2. Losing It (Losing It #1), by Cora Carmack
3. Once Burned (Night Prince #1), by Jeaniene Frost
4. Half-Blood (Covenant Series #1), by Jennifer L. Armentrout
5. Throne of Glass (Throne of Glass #1), by Sarah J. Maas

  8. BDB of course! And Under the Never Sky would make for a good movie, that's one of the very few dystopian novels that I love.

  10. I haven't finished reading Under the Never Sky, but I have to agree that the book would be lovely as a movie (in a perfect world they will cast Aria & Perry perfectly, right?) also Across the Universe. Imagine the accent! :D

  12. I also think that the Iron Fey series would be fun to see on TV. But I could see it going really corny though. SO it would need to be done really well. Of Poseidon would also be cool and unique to see on the big screen.
